We have Sara's fabulous Arts and Crafts studio, al newly built, the home of "Saramix" (pronounced ceramics), specializing in pottery, gilding and featuring many other arts and crafts. Sara is a renowned ceramic artist who started her art in Britain, after graduating at the famous London Central School of Art, she started her own pottery in Islington London and after incorporating many other crafts and skills on the way became a well known master gilder specializing in wall furniture. Amongst her clients many of the rich and famous and well known royalty throughout Britain, Europe and Middle East. Her items are prized objects in many a palace and stately home. She has now come full circle and returned to her roots although the odd bit of 24 carat gold pops up in her work now and then.
Apart from producing her own work Sara also tutors ceramic students for Otago Polytechnic. works therapeutically in clay with disabled people and teaches adults and children in the finer arts of ceramics, she has exhibited in NZ Arts and Crafts exhibitions and her work is for sale in various art galleries and shops in New Zealand, you can join her for a creative session in her studio and have a go at throwing a pot or building in clay.
If you are interested in the artistic side of things then Sara can introduce you to the wonderful world of ceramic art and fire your work in our on site kiln, or perhaps suggest some nice spots for water coloring or oil painting, you could have also have a go at gilding.
