Experience the fish life around you, swim with seals, travel through the coves hidden in the sounds, see birds such as shags, penguins & gulls, be with marine mammals in a safe, fun and enjoyable way, hear the local stories and history in a great day of discovery on a fast open boat riding the waves.

We cover The Sounds in a way that you can only do in a small group, a maximum of 6 ensures individual attention. You can choose to scuba dive if you are a diver, or you can have a try dive, you can snorkel or swim or you can stay dry!

Special rates for groups of 4 or more makes it more affordable for the family. Warm 7mm wet suits + Special kid size wet suit

The Active Eco Tour experience is simply a great time out in the Marlborough Sounds Marine Park, not only a fun boat trip along spectacular scenery but also a chance to encounter fascinating marine mammals and have a discovery tour of the finest of NZ underwater life and habitat. You will learn about nature in The Sounds and it’s unique inhabitants and history.

You will need to bring a towel, sunscreen, bottle of water and change of clothes. We are will fit you with a warm wet suit that will keep comfortable for a long period in the water. You will also receive a dive mask and snorkel and be instructed in it’s use, you will also get either a full foot or booty fins to wear. Before fitting our wet suit you should already have a swim suit or suitable togs on underneath your street clothing, there may not be the privacy to change fully into your swim wear prior to wet suit fitting.

You will have to be in normal good health to participate and sign a standard PADI waiver prior to departure

I will be your guide, I am an experienced PADI  IDC Staff Instructor, NZ Fire Fighter and St.Johns Ambulance officer I will make sure that your experience will be exciting and fun but safe, I love to show you my home environment !

You can find our Dive Shop by hopping in your car and drive 5 mins. to Waikawa Marina, by crossing Picton main street along the roundabout in the Picton Centre (towards top 10 holiday park) go along Waikawa road until you reach a bridge, and then turn left on to Beach Road just before that bridge, Waikawa Marina is at the end of Beach Road, and the Dive Marlborough / Compass charters shop is on the far corner. There are other Dive Shops in Picton so make sure you have the NINE DIVES eco tour from Waikawa Bay!

We can also pick you up in town and drop you off again at your Picton or Waikawa hotel or campsite.
